Preliminary plan. Details may change as the congress takes shape.

Inaugural cocktail

Monday 5 July, after the opening lecture. A first chance to meet the other participants.

Poster session at Universidad El Bosque

Wednesday 7 July, in the afternoon. The poster session takes place at the host university, in the north of the city. Details on how to get there from the congress venue will be added here.

An afternoon in Bogotá

Thursday 8 July, in the afternoon. The plan is a guided visit to the historic centre:

  • La Candelaria and Plaza de Bolívar, the colonial heart of the city.
  • Museo del Oro, one of the great collections of pre-Columbian goldwork.
  • Monserrate, the hilltop sanctuary at 3,152 m (10,340 ft), to watch the sun set over the city.

Bring a warm layer and a rain jacket: Monserrate is colder and windier than the city below (see weather and altitude).

Closing dinner

Friday 9 July, in the evening, at a restaurant in Bogotá. The place will be announced here.

After the congress

We are exploring an optional trip to the Caribbean coast (Cartagena and Tayrona National Park) for those who want to see a very different Colombia. It would be booked and paid for separately by those who join. More information will follow if it goes ahead.
